F.O.C.U.S CONFERENCE 2008
Unleashing Potential: Helping Youth Cope with Learning & Attentional Disorders
_________________________________________________
On behalf of the Executive Committee and all members of F.O.C.U.S., we take great pleasure in welcoming you to the Web site for the first F.O.C.U.S. Conference on Learning Differences, Unleashing Potential: Helping Youth Cope with Learning and Attentional Disorders, and to the three-month Virtual Conference Wraparound.
The aim of the two-day conference is to bring together people from Hong Kong and Southeast Asia who have an interest in Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Attentional Disorders and to unite forces in the treatment and management of these learning differences. We are delighted to have secured some of the most prestigious speakers and researchers in this field who will share their expertise and further promote this important educational support to the communities in Hong Kong and broader Asia.
F.O.C.U.S. is also providing a global online Virtual Conference to enhance and extend
the experience of those attending the live conference, and to allow those who cannot
attend the live conference to participate in this important conversation. The Virtual
Conference will extend from 8 February 2008 until 7 May 2008. Participants in
the live conference will be automatically enrolled in the Virtual Conference. Right now, using this Web site, you can register and pay for either Conference and view
the live Conference program, calendar and venue information. When the Virtual Conference begins in February, before the live Conference, you will be able to “meet” other participants; build your personal and professional networks through virtual interactions; plan meetings and choose sessions to attend; share your thoughts, ideas and comments in discussions; read papers and view information about our speakers; learn more about F.O.C.U.S., our sponsors, and participating vendors; and much more! After the live Conference, the Virtual Conference will continue until 7 May and may
be used to ask our speakers or moderators follow-up questions, continue discussions, follow up on contacts, or make suggestions for next year’s F.O.C.U.S. Conference.
Those who join the Virtual Conference without attending the physical Conference
may also listen to recordings of parts of the live conference. We welcome you to
the F.O.C.U.S. Conferences, and look forward to your active participation before
and after the live event and to meeting many of you in person at Cyberport on February
29th, 2008.
